Charlie Beckett

Charlie Beckett is the founding director of POLIS, the journalism think-tank in the Department of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics. He was an award-winning journalist at the BBC and ITN’s Channel 4 News before joining the LSE.

He is the author of ‘SuperMedia’ (Blackwell, 2008) that outlined the idea of networked journalism and its impact on international society. He is currently working on a book about WikiLeaks and the new forms of networked political communications to be published by Polity in November 2011.

He has lectured around the world and comments regularly on media and politics in the international media. He blogs at www.charliebeckett.org, and teaches critical studies in international journalism at LSE and directs the POLIS Summer School at LSE.
