Chris Roper is the editor of the Mail & Guardian Online, Africa’s first news website (founded 1995), and blogs on chrisroper.co.za. He works agnostically across several media platforms, believing that it’s all just content. He was founding portal manager of Vodacom World Online, portal manager for MWEB, South Africa’s largest ISP, and Editor-in-Chief at 24.com, South Africa’s largest online publisher. He has worked for many print publications in various capacities, including editor, and has won several awards in the category ‘stuff on paper’, including SA Columnist of the Year in 2008.
